Dynamos FC are likely to lose two key players with news that first choice goalkeeper Simbarashe Chinani and striker Nigel Katawa are scheduled to fly out to Russia this week.
Chinani, Katawa and two other players, Marvelous Chigumira of TelOne and Munashe Kasaira, who is unattached have been invited for trials at a top-flight Russian club.
The yet unnamed club, who are regular in the features in the UEFA Champions League, have indicated that if Chinani in particular impresses them, he will immediately be sent out on loan to a Spanish club. He will only return to the Russian club in June when the contract of their first choice keeper expires.
The four players took part and excelled during a tournament run by a Nigerian Moo Muhammad Mustapha dubbed Africa’s Biggest Talent Scouting Show in October 2019.
Mustapha is part of the Dynamic African Stars Agency, whose headquarters are in Nigeria, and are Muhammad, who lives in Russia, sent his team of scouts to Harare to hold the 2-day tournament at Prince Edward School with the help of locals, former players Dickson Choto and Charles Manjera.
Dynamos have seemingly been preparing for life after the 2 players with the signing of Hwange goalkeeper Tymon Mvula and Herentals kingpin Juan Mutudza last week.
Chinani has been a pillar of strength in goal for Dembare since joining the team in 2018. The 24-year-old goalkeeper, who lost his father when he was just a year old, has risen to become the first choice for the Warriors who have qualified for the 2020 African Nations Championship finals in Cameroon.
20 year old Katawa, who was a student at PE 2 years ago defied huge odds and gatecrashed into the Dembare attack last season weighing in with 5 goals and 4 assists in his debut PSL season.
