Biggie Zuze Buried Amid Carnival Atmosphere

The late Dynamos Assistant Coach Biggie Zuze has been laid to rest in his hometown of Bindura this afternoon.

A carnival atmosphere gripped the small mining town of Bindura as football fans, officials, players and residents joined family and friends of the ZuzeĀ  family in celebrating the life of one of the most prominent sons of Mashonaland Central Province.

Zuze passed on last Thursday at High Glen Cimas Clinic due to pulmonary infection.

Due to the lockdown restrictions, Dynamos Football Club were represented by a truncated team of 5 Executive members, 4 Technical team members and 5 players.

The 5 Executive members were Chairman Isaiah Mupfurutsa, Vice Chairman Moses Shumba, Secretary General Webster Marechera, Treasurer Moses Chikwariro and Executive Member In Charge Of Development Francis Matsinga.

Head Coach Tonderai Ndiraya led his Technical team of Assistant Naison Muchekela, Fitness Trainer Tendai Chituwa and Head Coach Juniors Norman Taruvinga.

The players were represented by Captain Partson Jaure, Munyaradzi Diya, Emmanuel Jalai, King Nadolo and Ghanaian Sylvester Appiah.

Hundreds of Dynamos fans poured into Bindura from last night and created a lively atmosphere at the Zuze home throughout the night.

Football fans from rival clubs, most notably Caps Utd, Highlanders and Bindura’s own Simba Bhora were on hand to pay their last respects to a fine gentleman of the game.

Such was the popularity of Biggie Zuze in this town that thousands of mourners defied the current restrictions and flooded the street leading to the Zuze home.

Many more lined the streets to catch a glimpse of the funeral hearse as it made its way to the cemetery.

On the way, residents demanded that the funeral hearse pass through Chipadze Stadium where many more residents had converged to pay their last respects to Nzou.

After all the protocols of the burial service were done, it became a sombre moment as the coffin was finally lowered into the grave draped in a Dynamos flag and matchball.
