Dynamos assistant coach Gift “Umbro” Muzadzi confirmed Murwira will not be registered for the first half of the 2020 season.

Murwira is an FC Platinum player who joined Dembare in July last season on a one-year loan and was hoping to complete his final six months at Dynamos in Tonderai Ndiraya’s much-changed side.

“Murwira is on the road to recovery from a nasty injury. He is getting better but considering the period he will take to be 100 per cent again, we thought it would be prudent for us not to register him for the first half of the season.

“Murwira is one of our best players and it is unfortunate we won’t have him for the first half of this coming season. But the team’s medical staff is working flat out to make sure he comes back even stronger,” Muzadzi said.

The former Ngezi Platinum Stars player is being haunted by his right knee that he originally inured during his time at Ngezi Platinum Stars and has been a notable absence from the Dynamos’ training sessions including bonding sessions and the Dynamos technical team has decided to give him some bit of time to fully recover.

Dynamos team doctor Robert Musara also spoke on the utility player’s injury.

“Murwira’s injury is a long standing one. It is an injury he suffered way back when he was still at Ngezi.

“He had an accident and the injury has been slowly building up. After we did an MR (Magnetic Resonance) scan on him we stopped him from playing because we did not want to do more damage to it.

“In essence, the player needs specialised medical treatment”

“Murwira can still play but he won’t be at his peak, he won’t be 100 percent fit because of this injury, he will be in pain.

“We have since rested the player because we don’t want to worsen the situation” said Musara.

It remains to be seen whether FC Platinum will effectively recall him when his loan deal expires at the end of June or Dembare will re-engage him, everything obviously dependant on the progress he makes in his battle with the injury.

Murwira is one of 3 senior players who was called upon by Ndiraya as the Harare giants struggled in the middle of last season.

The others, striker Evans Katema is now with Zambian giants Zanaco while the pair of midfielder Archieford Gutu and striker Simba Nhivi have since been offloaded

Muzadzi also shed light on their preparations.

“Our preparations have been going on very well and all the players, save for Murwira, are in an excellent shape. Its unfortunate we will no longer be travelling to Mozambique due to the coronavirus but we are not digressing.

On Saturday, Dynamos played against newly-promoted army side Cranborne Bullets and won 2-nil courtesy of David Temwanjira and Ali Maliselo’s goals.
