This new-look Dynamos will bring back glory days: Romario

Staunch Dynamos cheerleader Chris ‘Romario’ Musekiwa believes the current Dynamos squad assembled by coach Tonderai ‘Stanza’ Ndiraya will bring back glory days to the blue half of the capital.

The Harare giants put in a solid shift in the Chibuku Super Cup, winning their three games and drawing two before government temporarily suspended football due to the resurgent Covid-19 virus.

Interestingly, Ndiraya’s charges only conceded one goal since the tournament started- right-back Emmanuel Jalai’s own goal in the 1-1 draw with arch-rivals CAPS United and it is that stubborn defence, plus other factors, which excite Romario.

Coach Ndiraya has managed to assemble a rejuvenated star studded-squad. We have witnessed two star players on each position. The new look Dynamos side has the best defence in the league, a quality midfield department and we have also seen very good strikers who can deliver the much desired results,” an excited sounding Romario told Dembare.net.

The Castle Lager Premier Soccer League has evaded Dynamos since 2014, with FC Platinum dominating in recent years but Romario believes the Platinum miners’ days at the top of Zimbabwean football are numbered.

He also insists DeMbare have what it takes to go all the way in the Chibuku Super Cup.

“We have always been dynamic DeMbare inopedza masports .As Dynamos fans we foresee glory days coming back and Chibuku Super Cup success beacons. This season we have a good squad, good enough to end FC Platinum’s dominance in the league. We have always been fighters hence we wish our Glamour Boys the best of luck in the the next round of the lucrative Chibuku Super Cup,” he said.

The current Dynamos squad is a blend of youth and experience, with captain Partson Jaure in the heart of defence while exciting young acquisition Bill Antonio has been hailed for reminding the local football football fraternity that teenagers can still shine in the iconic blue and white strip.

Dynamos players get tested ahead of football resumption

Dynamos players this morning underwent the mandatory Covid-19 testing before starting training, in line with measures put in place for local football to resume.

On Tuesday, the Sports and Recreation Commission (SRC), gave football and other contact sports the green light to resume, after government had previously suspended them through a national initiative aimed of keeping in check surging cases of Covid-19.

The Chibuku Super Cup, in which the Tonderai Ndiraya-coached side was flying high with three wins and two draws before the enforced break, will now resume after all top-flight clubs undergo compulsory testing.

The Glamour Boys got tested at Parirenyatwa Hospital today in preparation for the resumption of training.

DeMbare’s last game in the competition was a slender 1-0 win over city rivals Harare City, thanks a to a solitary King Nadolo header.

No injuries have been reported, meaning it’s all systems go for Chazunguza.

Dembare To Bring In Two More Players

Dynamos FC Marketing And Public Relations Executive Tinashe Farawo has reiterated their full support for Coach Tonderayi Ndiraya in his quest to reposition the Glamour Boys at the summit of local football.

Dembare has undertaken a massive recruitment exercise that has so far seen 11 players joining the 21-time Zimbabwe champions. This, however, fuelled speculation among fans, media and observers that the Executive were hoarding players without the input of the coaching personnel.

With the first batch of new players being signed during the festive holidays when Ndiraya was away on holiday, speculation was rife that the Executive had panicked and were imposing players on Ndiraya.

However Ndiraya, on his return, was quick to give his seal of approval to everything the Executive was doing. Training commenced last Monday and most of the new players were available adding to Ndiraya’s bliss.

But Dembare are not done yet with Farawo revealing that Ndiraya still needs about 2 more strikers.

“We have been ticking the boxes and we are probably left with one or two strikers to complete our task. We are just working according to the list submitted by the coach and I think we are almost through with it,’’ said Farawo.

“I am sure the coach and his technical team are happy with what we have done so far because we have given them what they have asked for. The coach requested for the players, and we have given him the players, and we think we have delivered on our mandate. Now it’s left to him to work with the resources availed to him. This year should be our year. Our aim is to get to the top and play Champions League football again.’’

Farawo refused to divulge the 2 players left on their list, though it is believed Caps Utd speedy winger Phineas Bamusi is one of them.

But he took time to address fans’ concerns about the culture of acquiring many players each and every season, which used to be unheard of at Dembare.

“We are going to invest more into our development programme. That is why we have Dynamos age-group teams in our structures, and a Dynamos reserve side that is playing in the ZIFA Division Two league.

“We want it to be a big business enterprise, considering the huge potential that this team is sitting on. Dynamos is a club with a rich history, and that should reflect in every aspect.

“Almost every player dreamt of playing for Dynamos, but that hasn’t been the case, of late because of the mistakes of the past. The leadership is addressing those mistakes, and Dynamos will be a team of choice again in terms of winning trophies and marketing players abroad.’’
