The rise and rise of Mvula

DeMbare has just announced the signing in of now former Hwange FC player, Tymon Mvula.

Here’s some background on him. Mvula is a product of the Hwange Football Club junior policy. He graduated into the senior team at the beginning of the 2016 season after the retirement of long-serving goalie Timothy Sibanda.

He spent 2016 season competing for the first-team jersey with London Zulu and Future Sibanda. He became regular first choice keeper at Hwange in 2017. He has had several call-ups to the locally-based Zimbabwe Warriors team.

Mvula impressed in the two matches against Dembare last season prompting suggestions that Dembare officials could have decided on bringing him to Harare then.

He joins Dembare at a time when the glamour boys have fired substitute keeper Stephen Chimusoro who went for an off-season match in Messina without the club approval.

First choice keeper Simba Chinani has attracted interest from several foreign clubs and speculation is rife that he may leave Dembare.

The best bet would then be Mvula taking over the number one jersey at Dembare this season.
