Jaure Handed Dembare Armband

DEFENDER Partson Jaure has been appointed substantive captain of the Glamour Boys for the upcoming PSL season.

Coach Tonderai Ndiraya revealed his choice this morning saying Jaure is a figure of influence who will rally the players on the field of play and help connect with the club management and fans.

He will be deputised by Kudzanai Dhemere.

Jaure was born on 8 July 1990 and has risen through the Dynamos FC junior ranks to the senior team, though he had brief stints at lower division sides AMC and LaLiga.

Jaure made his breakthrough into the senior team in 2010 where he would partner either Guthrie Zhokinyi or George Magariro in central defence.

He commanded a regular place in the Dembare senior team for 4 seasons and won 6 trophies including 3 successive league titles.

His strong perfomances attracted the interest of SA side University Of Pretoria who snapped him in 2014.

He made 24 league appearances in both his first and his second seasons with the club, including scoring a goal in November 2014 versus Moroka Swallows.

At the end of his second season with Tuks, the club was relegated via the 2015-16 play-offs and Jaure was subsequently released at the end of the season.

Upon his return from South Africa, Partson Jaure joined Ngezi Platinum Stars Football Club under Tonderai Ndiraya and later on crossed the Zambezi to join Zambian top-flight club Buildcon where he did not last for long after his contract was terminated on mutual agreement.

He came back to Zimbabwe and signed for newly promoted PSL outfit Manica Diamonds where he played last season before retracing his roots to Dembare in the off-season.

Jaure’s debut for Zimbabwe came in a 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Egypt on 26 March 2013.

He made a total of three appearances in Zimbabwe’s unsuccessful World Cup qualifying campaign.

In January 2014, coach Ian Gorowa called him into the Zimbabwe squad for the 2014 African Nations Championships (CHAN).

He helped the team to a fourth-place finish after being defeated by Nigeria by a goal to nil.

He made a total of six appearances in the competition.

Ndiraya will certainly have headaches on where to deploy Jaure this season, especially considering the duo of Ghanaian Stephen Appiah and Byron Madzokere seem to have already hit a telepathic understanding in central defence in the preparatory matches played so far.

Jaure Injured In Brawl

When Dynamos regrouped for training on Monday at Hellenic Sports Club, one notable absentee from the field of play was returning Glamour Boy Partson Jaure.

Jaure is making a return to Dynamos after a sojourn that took him to University Of Pretoria in South Africa, Ngezi Platinum and most recently Manica Diamonds.

Though Jaure was present at Hellenic, he sat out the whole duration of the session as other players shed off the off-season blues on the turf. The official line was that he was yet to recover from an injury sustained during his time at Manica.

But it did not escape the attention of observers that the Warriors defender had a slightly swollen face with a small bandage strip just above his left eye.

It has since emerged that the Warriors defender was injured in a brawl at a Harare leisure spot recently.

Jaure, who is a strong favourite to be handed the Captain’s armband this season, is believed to have been involved in a fist-fight with another reveler over a woman and sustained a head injury.

The extent of the injury is yet to be revealed but this misshap will surely not go down well with Coach Tonderayi Ndiraya who is banking on senior players like Jaure to lead his 2020 revolution at Chazunguza.

Jaure favourite for Dembare captaincy

Returning defender Partson Jaure is odds-on favourite to be handed the Dynamos armband when the Dynamos technical team meet next week to plan for the new Premiership football season.

Veteran striker Edward Sadomba, who retired from his international career in 2018, returned home last season for a farewell dance with the local Premiership and captained the Harare giants last season.
Sadomba has since announced his departure from the field of play.
The oft-volatile Harare giants now need a new figure of influence to rally their dressing room together and help connect with the management and the supporters and Jaure is in a strong position to fill in the position.

Jaure is a Dynamos product and rose through the ranks to the senior team, though he had brief stints at lower division sides AMC and LaLiga.

Jaure commanded a regular place in the Dembare senior team for 4 seasons and won 6 trophies including 3 successive league titles. His strong perfomances attracted the interest of SA side University Of Pretoria who snapped him in 2014.

He came back to Zimbabwe and signed for newly promoted PSL outfit Manica Diamonds where he played last season.
The other senior players who were understudies to Sadomba last season Jimmy Tigere, Godfrey Mukambi and Simba Chinani often found it difficult to fill in the big shoes worn in the past by the likes of Sunday Chidzambwa, Francis Shonhai, Memory Mucherahowa, Justice Majabvi, Desmond Maringwa and Murape Murape.
The appointment of Jaure is being seen as a vital step in the revolution taking place at the former champions who finished in a disappointing ninth place last season.
