Warriors Edge Dembare in Friendly

A PENALTY conversion was all that separated the Zimbabwe National Team from Dynamos FC in a friendly match played at Hellenics Sports Club yesterday.

The home-based Warriors are currently in camp preparing for the Total African Nations Championships (CHAN) to be held in Cameroon from the 4th to the 25th of April 2020.

As part of their preparations, the Warriors visited Dembare at their training base and played a match which saw the former champions put up a commendable show despite playing without 3 key players, Partson Jaure, Juan Mutudza and King Nadolo who all featured for the National team in the match.

Despite that huge setback, the Glamour Boys went toe to toe with the cream of local football with coach Zdravko Logarusic visibly frustrated for long periods of the match.

The Warriors got their solitary goal through a penalty awarded after defender Byron Madzokere was adjudged to have upended Wellington Taderera in the penalty box.

Veteran Harare City midfielder Moses Muchenje stepped up to calmly slot the ball home much to Loga’s relief.

Zimbabwe is in group A with hosts Cameroon, Mali & Burkina Faso and will kick off against the hosts on the 4th of April at 1600hrs.

Dynamos coach Tonderai Ndiraya will draw much satisfaction from yesterday’s performance as he bids to knit a strong team for the upcoming PSL season.

Dembare Overcome Yadah

DYNAMOS Football Club edged out a battling Yadah Stars 1-0 in a pre-season friendly match played at Yadah Complex this afternoon.

Former ZPC Kariba hitman David Temwanjira scored the solitary goal for the Boys In Blue.

Ironically Dynamos were clad in a yellow training kit with blue stripes.

This is the second victory for Dynamos this pre-season after beating Simba Bhora 2-nil last week at Hellenics Sports Club.

Dembare used a red training kit then.

Biggie Zuze was in charge of the Glamour Boys as coach Tonderai Ndiraya is away in Belgium on a 2-week attachment.

Sixteen players took part in the match for Dynamos and these were;

Tymon Mvula, Munyaradzi Diya, Lennox Mutsetse, Barnabas Mushunje, Ngandu Mangala, Tawanda Chisi, Kudzanai Dhemere, Emmanuel Jalai, Byron Madzokere, Nkosi Mlanga, Sylvester Appiah, Tinotenda Muringai, Ali Joseph Maliselo, Tanaka Chidhobha, Juan Mutudza and David Temwanjira.

Dynamos immediately returned to Marondera where they are camped as they intensify preparations for the upcoming season.

Breath Of Fresh Air At Dembare

A breath of fresh air is prevailing at Dynamos Football Club if events of the past 2 weeks are anything to go by.

Dembare, the biggest and most successful club in local football, have somehow perfected an amateurish and chaotic way of doing things over the years.

Most of their pre-seasons have been characterised by chaotic preparations, players’ mutiny and false promises of signing-on fees.

But this year, Dembare have been uncharacteristically serene and professional since the players regrouped from the festive holidays on the 20th of January 2020.

The Dynamos executive has undertaken a massive restructuring of the team as they captured 11 of Tonderai Ndiraya’s choicest players.

The new players range from rookies like Tanaka Chidhobha and Nkosi Mhlanga, to versatile players like Tymon Mvula and David Temwanjira and veterans like Sylvester Appiah and Byron Madzokere.

Refreshingly, all the new signings , together with the old players, came out in full force on the very first day of training at Hellenic Sports Club.

Even an injured Partson Jaure was present, and watched proceedings from the terraces.Training went on well the rest of the week with focus mainly on fitness drills.

On Friday, fans and observers were surprised to learn that Dynamos players had left for Lake Chivero for a 3-day team building and bonding camp, something unheard of in previous Dembare teams.

And soon enough, pictures and videos of events at Chivero started trending on social media of players doing fitness drills, bonding games, mud-bath and hiking among other activities.

You could see the unity and togetherness among the players as they went through the Chivero camp.

The contingent returned to Harare on Sunday, and the following day it was back to serious business as the players alternated between training at Hellenics and gym sessions at a local fitness centre.

Credit to the Executive for charting a new trajectory for the Glamour Boys as we seek to end a 5-year barren spell.

Club spokesperson Tinashe Farawo has already promised that more such activities are in the pipeline for The Boys In Blue.

Sponsors Rudland & George are on record expressing delight at the stateof affairs at Chazunguza.

Fans are already looking forward to the new season which Chairman Isaiah Mupfurutsa has boldly declared their intentions to return to the top of the local game. dembare.net

Dembare Off To Weekend Retreat

We have gathered that Dynamos FC players have left Harare for a weekend retreat in Norton/Darwendale. The Dembare bus departed soon after today’s training session.

An official who spoke to True Blue says the retreat, which will last until Sunday, is meant to create a bond among the players seeing as many of them are still new to the institution.

Dembare have been very busy on the local transfer market and have so far acquired a total of 11 players.

Notable absentees from the travelling party were goalkeeper Simba Chinani and striker Nigel Katawa who flew out to Russia last night for trials with an unnamed club.

Chief striker Evans Katema is in Zambia negotiating for a possible transfer. Defender Jimmy Tigere has quit football to stay with his family abroad.

The quartet of Godfrey Mukambi, Stephen Chimusoro, Edgar Mhungu and Philip Kaseke were released by the club after travelling to South Africa for a social match without the club approval.

Jaure Injured In Brawl

When Dynamos regrouped for training on Monday at Hellenic Sports Club, one notable absentee from the field of play was returning Glamour Boy Partson Jaure.

Jaure is making a return to Dynamos after a sojourn that took him to University Of Pretoria in South Africa, Ngezi Platinum and most recently Manica Diamonds.

Though Jaure was present at Hellenic, he sat out the whole duration of the session as other players shed off the off-season blues on the turf. The official line was that he was yet to recover from an injury sustained during his time at Manica.

But it did not escape the attention of observers that the Warriors defender had a slightly swollen face with a small bandage strip just above his left eye.

It has since emerged that the Warriors defender was injured in a brawl at a Harare leisure spot recently.

Jaure, who is a strong favourite to be handed the Captain’s armband this season, is believed to have been involved in a fist-fight with another reveler over a woman and sustained a head injury.

The extent of the injury is yet to be revealed but this misshap will surely not go down well with Coach Tonderayi Ndiraya who is banking on senior players like Jaure to lead his 2020 revolution at Chazunguza.
