Dynamos-RG Red Hot Promotion Continues

DYNAMOS Football Club fans will once again get an opportunity of meeting their favourite players when the Remington Gold Red Hot Promotion continues at various centres in Harare tomorrow (Saturday).

With football having been set aside following the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, supporters will get to mingle with their favourite players away from the field.

Midfielder Takunda Mawirire and former Hwange goalkeeper Taimon Mvula will be stationed at N.Richards Masasa.

Former ZPC Kariba hitman David Temwanjira and newboy Lenox Mutsetse will spend the day at N. Richards Graniteside.

Cameroonian import Albert Eonde and Barnabus Mushunje are the Glamour Boys players that will be at N.Richards Tynwald.

The Dynamos-Remington Gold Red Hot promotion has been running at N.Richards branches with fans getting photo opportunities with their DeMbare heroes.

Besides rubbing shoulders with their favourite players fans that purchase Remington Gold products will be handed over supporters’ jerseys as well as being entered into a grand draw where winners stand a chance of walking away with bicycles.

Title sponsors Remington Gold have strengthened their relationship with the Harare giants by making Dembare players Brand Ambassadors.

The third week of the Remington Gold Red Hot Promotion will come days before the Glamour Boys begin preparations for the PSL mini-league tournament which is set to be used to assess the viability of topflight football returning following months of being on the sidelines.

Dembare Official Kit To Be Unveiled Soon

DYNAMOS Football Club have refuted widespread speculation that the kit (pictured) worn by players at their ongoing social responsibility programmes and training sessions is the official playing kit for the Harare giants.

www.dembare.net

DeMbare Chairman Isaiah Mupfurutsa says Dynamos will, infact, unveil their official 2020 playing kits in the coming weeks.

The Premier Soccer League management recently revealed that the 2020 season is provisionally set to be played in a mini league “bubble” format.

The 21-time champions are ticking all the right boxes at a time when some financially struggling local clubs are feeling the full impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

But for the usually problem-ridden club, what was largely expected to be a tough year for them has in fact turned out to be a fairly smooth sail for the club, all thanks to principal sponsors Gold Leaf Tobacco.

The DeMbare boss clarified the matter, “Contrary to what most people think, the kit that was widely circulated on social media about two weeks ago is not the official kit that will be used by the team but it’s part of regalia that players will use during social responsibility initiatives.

“We are involved in so many social responsibility programmes in partnership with our sponsors RG-Gold Leaf Tobacco and our players must be identifiable when doing non-profit work in communities,” explained Mupfurutsa.

“The official kit will be unveiled in a few weeks.”

“Now that football has been given the green light to resume, we are forging ahead with plans to unveil a brand manufactured official kit that will be used in the mini league format that is being proposed by the PSL,” he said.

Turning to the DeMbare/ RG-Gold Leaf Tobacco partnership that has seen the club resemble a smooth sailing ship, Mupfurutsa said the club was in a good space and would continue to strive to improve the welfare of its players.

“We are in a good space, we can’t complain. Our sponsors have been very generous by making sure we navigate through these difficult times as our players are paid on time and did not have to worry about pay cuts when other clubs were struggling to keep afloat.

“We are in the first two years of a five-year deal and the relationship between the club and our sponsors keeps growing,” he added.

DeMbare Sign Makanda Amid Mavhunga, Chadya Rumours

DYNAMOS have signed striker Tinashe Makanda (pictured centre) from arch-rivals Highlanders as the club continues to do business at a time when local football has been shut out by the Covid-19 pandemic.

www.dembare.net

Makanda’s contract with Bosso is said to have expired in June and the player was understood to have been angling for a move to FC Platinum.

But DeMbare acted swiftly and on Wednesday they signed the forward.

Sources in Harare also claim the Harare giants have also signed Triangle Utd talisman Trevor Mavhunga.

However, the club’s officials are not confirming the move.

Dynamos Secretary-General, Webster Marechera, who was pictured with Makanda in full DeMbare-branded regalia, tried to claim he was not aware of the developments.

“We have not signed Tinashe Makanda and Trevor Mavhunga,’’ he said. “We are not aware of those deals, maybe someone took the picture.

“We are not signing players.  Someone should have taken the picture and posted it on social media.  It’s social media stuff,” said Marechera.

Highlanders spokesperson, Ronald Moyo, could neither confirm  nor deny that Makanda has joined Dynamos.

“We are not commenting on that issue,” said Moyo.

The Glamour Boys have also been linked with Ngezi Platinum Stars goalkeeper Nelson Chadya.

Chadya, who was voted the Mhondoro team’s Most Improved Player after conceding 21 goals in 31 games while keeping 13 clean sheets last season is understood to be split between Dynamos and FC Platinum.

His contract with the Ngezi side expires at the end of the year.

Coach Rodwell Dhlakama has brought in former Triangle goalkeeper, Chang Marion, as well as Issah Ali from Yadah, to the club.

DeMbare’s first-choice goalkeeper, Simba Chinani, is targeting a move to Moroka Swallows of South Africa.

If Chadya eventually joins Dynamos, he will reunite with his former coach Ndiraya, with the duo having worked together for close to three years at Ngezi Platinum Stars.

The relative stability at the Glamour Boys has been attributed to their principal sponsors, Gold Leaf Tobacco.

“All the activities happening, and the stability we have at the club, wouldn’t have been there without the support of our dear sponsors, Gold Leaf Tobacco, though the RG brand,” said club executive chairman, Isaiah Mupfurutsa.

Zuze’s Body Leaves For Bindura

The body of the late Dynamos Assistant coach Biggie Zuze has left Harare for Bindura where it will lie in state at the Zuze home tonight.

www.dembare.net

Burial is scheduled for tomorrow (Monday).

In the picture above, football fans drawn from several clubs carry the body of Biggie Zuze from his Stoneridge house for the final journey to Bindura.

The funeral hearse left Stoneridge just after lunchtime and passed through Rufaro Stadium where Biggie has fond memories both as player and coach.

Scores of football fans were on hand to bid farewell to an illustrious servant of the game.

Zuze died in Harare last Thursday following pulmonary complications.

Zuze started his career at lower division sides in Mashonaland Central before making the big leap to Harare giants Dynamos in 1983.

At Dynamos he played alongside household names like Clayton Munemo, Elvis Chiweshe, Francis Shonhayi, Peter Fanwell, Lucky Dube, Leon Ntawantawa, Kenneth Jere, Moses, Taurai Mangwiro, Memory Mucherahowa and David Mandigora.

His brother Garikai was to join the Glamour Boys 2 years later in 1985.

As a coach Biggie had an eye for junior talent and was instrumental in setting up the famed Dynamos’ Kidznet project where he groomed stars like Desmond Maringwa, Murape Murape, Cephas Chimedza, Norman Maroto and Samson Choruwa, to mention a few.

He had coaching stints at Sporting Lions, Monomotapa, Triangle, in between having brief stints at his beloved Dynamos.

Despite the lockdown restrictions, a huge crowd is expected to converge in Bindura tomorrow to lay to rest a fine gentleman of the game.

He is survived by his wife and two sons.

Dembare Merchandise Deal Goes Into Motion

The operationalisation of the four-year sales agreement between Dynamos Football Club and their anchor sponsor Remmington Gold has kicked off

www.dembare.net

The deal was launched in February and the two parties have confirmed, through an official statement, that the deal is now fully operational.

The development comes at a time Dynamos have begun steps to commercialise and widen their revenue streams beyond gate revenue.

Dynamos, just like all the local teams, have had to endure months without any gate-takings as action was halted owing to the pandemic that forced a stop to global sporting action.

But before the Covid-19 outbreak, Dynamos had begun exploring ways to enhance brand visibility through merchandise sales, particularly the club’s replica jerseys and branded shirts.

“The sale of our merchandise has kicked off,” read part of the statement.

“Dynamos Football Club and their main sponsors Remington Gold are glad to announce the operationalisation of our four-year sales relationship agreement, which was concluded in February 2020.

“The two partners agreed that they shall, during the subsistence of the agreement, distribute, through their supporters’ structures, the official club merchandise and or paraphernalia and Remington Gold products in Zimbabwe and beyond the borders.

“The products, which shall be sold to the club’s fans and the general public, shall be distributed through designated distribution agents comprising, but not limited to the following: sports shops, restaurants and food courts, service stations, licensed vendors, departmental/chain stores, wholesalers and club offices.”

While Dynamos’ official home and away shirts will be on sale when the season gets underway, merchandise like royal blue supporters’ shirts (pictured) are already on sale at US$10.

Dynamos spokesperson Tinashe Farawo explained further details of the merchandise deal.

“The first batch of official club merchandise comprising royal blue supporters’ shirts shall be sold at your nearest distribution agent designated by the club.

“Each original supporters’ shirt shall be sold for a special price of US$10.

“More merchandise, including the official 2020 season home and away playing shirts, shall be going on sale as soon as the season gets underway,” Farawo said.

Dynamos and fellow traditional giants Highlanders and CAPS United have constantly been urged to lead the way in becoming commercial ventures in line with global football trends.

Without official club replicas and branded shirts, caps, scarves and other merchandise, Dynamos fans have had to find their identity in replicas of international clubs such as Chelsea who wear similar colours.

Farawo, however, believes the Premiership giants can only build from the steps they have taken through their partnership with Remington Gold, which includes their supporters across the country.

Jaure Injured In Road Accident

DYNAMOS Football Club Captain Partson Jaure has been seriously injured in a road traffic accident early this morning in Harare.

www.dembare.net

Jaure was driving when the accident occured near Prince Edward School.

He is believed to have been driving when his car veered off the road and hit a tree on the side of the road.

Jaure was trapped in the driver’s seat and bled profusely mainly from the upper body and was later extricated by eye-witnesses.

He was immediately rushed to Parirenyatwa Hospital where he is admitted.

His condition could not be immediately ascertained as doctors were attending to him.

Only this past Thursday, Jaure addressed guests at the Dynamos-Gold Leaf sales function in Avondale.

Yesterday, Jaure was at Callies Sports Club watching his teammates play a friendly against Simba Bhora.

Prominent Dynamos fan Alvin Aluvah Zhakata led with a message of goodwill to the Captain in an early morning Tweet, “Zim Warriors defender 7 Dynamos Captain #PartsonJaure was badly injured in an accident in the early hours of today. Hope that this accident doesnt get him down for a very long time. Get well soon champ”

StarFM broadcaster Steve Vickers confirmed the accident on his Sunday Morning Breakfast Show.

DYNAMOS, NYARADZO RENEW SPONSORSHIP DEAL

DYNAMOS Football Club have received a major boost ahead of the upcoming season with revelations that one of their sponsors Nyaradzo Group has extended its support for the next three years.

www.dembare.net

Nyaradzo provides the branded bus that transports players to training sessions, matches and elsewhere together with all the fuel required.

Nyaradzo also incorporates all players contracted to the club in its funeral policy plans.

The extension of the partnership was revealed by club Chairman Isaiah Mupfurutsa.

“The good news is that Nyaradzo Group will be with us for the next three years.

“The extension of our partnership with Nyaradzo Group for another three years is another vote of confidence by local partners in the Dynamos brand,” said Mupfurutsa.

DeMbare have also retained sponsorship deals with three other organisations namely ZLG Water, 4 May Fabrics and Fidelity.

Mupfurutsa said they will unveil more partners soon.

‘’In the near future, we will be unveiling some of these partnerships,’’ he said.

“We have already witnessed some great cooperation and engagement from foreign partners like Ligi (Pvt) Limited of Belgium and top Belgian football club, KV Mechelen.

“Our head coach Tonderai Ndiraya was recently in Belgium for two weeks, courtesy of our technical partnership with Ligi and KV Mechelen.

Jaure Handed Dembare Armband

DEFENDER Partson Jaure has been appointed substantive captain of the Glamour Boys for the upcoming PSL season.

www.dembare.net

Coach Tonderai Ndiraya revealed his choice this morning saying Jaure is a figure of influence who will rally the players on the field of play and help connect with the club management and fans.

He will be deputised by Kudzanai Dhemere.

Kudzi Dhemere

Jaure was born on 8 July 1990 and has risen through the Dynamos FC junior ranks to the senior team, though he had brief stints at lower division sides AMC and LaLiga.

Jaure made his breakthrough into the senior team in 2010 where he would partner either Guthrie Zhokinyi or George Magariro in central defence.

He commanded a regular place in the Dembare senior team for 4 seasons and won 6 trophies including 3 successive league titles.

His strong perfomances attracted the interest of SA side University Of Pretoria who snapped him in 2014.

He made 24 league appearances in both his first and his second seasons with the club, including scoring a goal in November 2014 versus Moroka Swallows.

At the end of his second season with Tuks, the club was relegated via the 2015-16 play-offs and Jaure was subsequently released at the end of the season.

Upon his return from South Africa, Partson Jaure joined Ngezi Platinum Stars Football Club under Tonderai Ndiraya and later on crossed the Zambezi to join Zambian top-flight club Buildcon where he did not last for long after his contract was terminated on mutual agreement.

He came back to Zimbabwe and signed for newly promoted PSL outfit Manica Diamonds where he played last season before retracing his roots to Dembare in the off-season.

Jaure’s debut for Zimbabwe came in a 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Egypt on 26 March 2013.

He made a total of three appearances in Zimbabwe’s unsuccessful World Cup qualifying campaign.

In January 2014, coach Ian Gorowa called him into the Zimbabwe squad for the 2014 African Nations Championships (CHAN).

He helped the team to a fourth-place finish after being defeated by Nigeria by a goal to nil.

He made a total of six appearances in the competition.

Ndiraya will certainly have headaches on where to deploy Jaure this season, especially considering the duo of Ghanaian Stephen Appiah and Byron Madzokere seem to have already hit a telepathic understanding in central defence in the preparatory matches played so far.
